Felted Folk Art
Welcome to Felted Folk Art, a creative arts club where you will explore the enchanting world of flat felt sheets to craft both functional pieces and decorative art forms. Throughout this course, you'll be introduced to a variety of techniques to decorate both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional works, drawing inspiration from traditional folk art designs. Our guided demonstrations will help you master hand-stitched embroidery techniques, enabling you to transform simple felt sheets into unique and intricate pieces of art. From composing collages to appliqu茅, you鈥檒l gain hands-on experience in creating stunning effects with a range of stitches.
The course is designed to be highly experiential, offering practical activities that foster creativity and skill development. You'll have the opportunity to create 3-dimensional items, such as tulips, animals, or birds, and to draw inspiration from both historical and contemporary artists to design your own 2-dimensional artwork. To support your learning journey, we provide comprehensive handouts and continuous guidance. By the end of the course, you will have developed your own unique ideas, produced beautiful pieces of art to take home, and acquired a set of versatile techniques that you can apply to future projects.
